What was the inspiration?
Honestly my wife. I’ve been building custom vehicles for years and have the same addiction to projects as most of us do. The result was a lot of unfinished vehicles and parts to build another. She convinced me to thin out the quantity and replace it with quality. So it was built to be a daily/trailer hauler/drag race/truck show do-all
How long did it take you to build?
3 year in evenings and weekends. I skipped out on anything else I could that would slow the project including tv or wasteful spending (if that makes any sense)
How long have you been building?
My dad taught me how to disassemble and service my bike cranks when i was very young. It turned out to be a big deal. A modified lawnmower held me till I got my first non-running car when i was 15 and I’ve never left the garage since. That was around ‘1990. But I usually consumed vehicles. This truck taught me to concentrate and produce something worth more than the pile of parts.
Club Affiliations
If anything this truck inspired a club. Our brand is FarFromStock. Literally unintentionally created by this truck and the social media audience connection. So our social media, @mopar1darrell, @dbfolk, FarFromStockStore ect really has become a club.
Your future plans?
I guess to continue to be creative. I am now getting vehicles brought to me from all around to build custom suspension and other custom modifications. It’s recently become full time work and expansion is eminent. I want it to further our brand and promote our website, FarFromStockStore.com in whatever way we can.
Vehicle history
Second of this 4 door body I bought. Just loved the unusual version of a truck i was already connected to. First was too rusty to enjoy. I passed by this one when driving my semi through WV and thought it looked perfect. Little goose chase later and it was mine. 27000 mile truck. Reasonably clean. I drove it and modified it for years but didn’t enjoy it due to how crass of a vehicle it was. So it often sat, especially if I broke it. So it was loved but sitting. So it was an easy choice to make THE truck I wanted.
Thanks to
My patient wife Keely, her dad for lifting parts anytime I needed a hand. Kaleb at FarFromStockRestyling for paint and a catchy name that would be our future brand. Steve Cole Diesel for answering my knowledge hungry questions. Some great sponsors like Optima Batteries, Lucas Oil Products, Diesel Power Source, AirDog, Power Driven Diesel, Interco Tires, Rigid Industries, Yukon Gear, Accuair, Ruff Stuff Specialties, Hostile Wheels, Mishimoto
Previous Rides
First some Mopar muscle cars like a coronet, dart and barracuda, then on to trucks, off road 85 dodge, 93 Dakota with solid axle swap built for trails and rocks, an ae86 and more. I love everything automotive.

Engine Mods
ARP studs with a mildly ported and o-ringed head on a high mileage short block with a 210/210 cam. I really need a fresh bottom end. Converted to a p-pump that can supply fuel to 1000 hp. It is controlled by an AfcLive by PDD and also an Attitude Adjuster so I can turn the truck up and down like a computer tuned truck even though it’s mechanical
Engine Add Ons
Diesel Power Source ball bearing compound turbos,
Power Driven Diesel 5x14 injectors
Jamo Exhaust to our own FarFromStock Diesel stack kit that i developed to not shoot wet soot, need covered in the rain or melt things in the bed.

Straight paint job that doesn’t mess with the lines of the truck. The black highlights represent a muscle car blackout package if it were optioned on this truck. The black also modernized a few dated parts of the truck as did the carbon fiber tailgate panel that also deletes the latch

These trucks came with almost nothing. So I built it all with the goal of being an enjoyable experience and matching the theme of the rest of the truck. When the truck started driving the interior wasn’t complete and I really need to finish it but it’s too fun to drive
