SEMA 2021 Offroad was held in Las Vegas, Nevada from November 2nd-5th at the Las Vegas Convention Center. You may think there is no ride left that can surprise you, but we promise these rides will!
This year, the talk of the show was the Chevy Beast. Starting as a Silverado Pickup truck, Chevy allowed their engineers to let loose and build the pickup into a completely new concept that is the Beast. Measuring 204 inches long with a 126.9-inch wheel base, the Best measures just 20 inch shorter than the Silverados you see on the road.
They make up for that loss in track width as it is 91 inches; 17 inches wider than a ford F-150 Raptor and pushing to be wider than the Hummer EV. Some of the width on the Beast comes from the 37-inch tires but the rest comes from the custom long travel suspension. Enough of suspension and measurements, what makes this ride really the Beast?
This Chevy is a supercharged 6.2-liter LT4 V8 coupled with a 10L90 10-speed automatic transmission and low range equipped transfer case to power all four wheels. With all the power, you’ll need a top notch braking system! Chevy Performance added six-piston front calipers from Brembo. That’ll stop this Beast right in its track! All in all, you can tell why this 2WD truck was a HUGE show stopper.
You may think the beast stops it all for SEMA 2021 Offroad, but unusual designs are also the way to go to make your ride stick out from the rest… Like a Ford Bronco Chia Pet for example!
Quaker LED made sure that their Ford Bronco was going to be like any other because where else will you see a Chia Pet Ford Bronco. The Ford is covered with real, sprouting chia seeds that the owner had to water every two hours. Underneath the sprouting seeds, the vehicle is actually blue! Sporting a 2.7 Liter V6 Engine producing 315 Horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque, this Ford is hiding a lot under those sprouts.
As we always say, we are beyond excited to see what is in store for SEMA 2022!
