Tiki Themed and something straight out of HELL, Tiki Bob is because I have two younger boys and that is what they named it

What was the inspiration?
Considering the Volkswagen Beetle holds the record of being the most produced car (Over 21 Million), and some would even say, the most recognizable car....Take that image and change it so drastically that people will often say, "That is Cool...What the hell is it?"
How long did it take you to build?
Started in 2005 and is still being "toyed" with.
How long have you been building?
I got into VW's out of college in 1993

Vehicle history
I'm the second owner of this custom built Volksrod, Hell Tiki was built in Louisville Kentucky.

much to many Air-cooled VW's to list. Currently Own this Volksrod, a 1971 Standard Beetle, 1978 Westfalia bus, and a 1971 Fiberglass body "Dune Buggy" I built with my then 4 year old now 10 son Jackson.

Custom Louvered Hood.

Body Mods
Shaved of all chrome, hood and door handles. "Bonneville Chop" 3 inches removed in the front and slanted forward. Recessed 1990 Cadillac Rear tail lights, 1955 VW Dash, After market "Rag Top", Custom Rear Split widow to resemble Eyes, Fenders removed and filled in. Bobbed rear end and deleted Rear air vent under window. Custom louvered early model Beetle hood, 70's Honda turn signals in front. 7" Headlight buckets up front, Custom extended front end with a spread ford wishbone and drilled 36 ford straight axle under a modified leaf spring from a Small trailer. Bamboo on lower portion of body sides where running boards would have been placed.

Upholstery Description
No Frills,Only the necessities are needed! Removed all carpet and replaced with Bamboo blinds, Tiki Torches in the rear. Red Tinted Glass in the rear. Wooded Windshield surround. Bamboo under dash shelf.
