“La Chiquilla”
The 2003 Yamaha RoadStar owned by Hugo Herrera is a tribute to his mother, who battled heart disease, a quadruple bypass, and kidney disease. The motorcycle, named “La Chiquilla,” was built to honor her and give her hope during her tough time. Three years later, she is still with us, and the motorcycle stands as a testament to the strength of their family bond.
Purchased for $3000 in 2010, the motorcycle was kept in stock until three years ago when Herrera began working on it. The build cost was $6000, and it took him two years to complete. La Chiquilla is adorned with custom blue paint and features silver leaf and pinstriping graphics done by Jerry Chingas.
The motorcycle’s nickname comes from Herrera’s father’s nickname for his mother. It is a reminder of their love and serves as a symbol of their strength and unity. The Yamaha RoadStar is equipped with a ground-zero speaker system and a custom seat by Jorge Zamora. The Showtime Audio team installed the stereo system.
Herrera’s future plans for the motorcycle include working on the engine and adding some engraving. The Lowered Attractions motorcycle club member has previously owned a 2000 GSXR 600 and has affiliations with Miguel Mata, Cesar Venegas, Jerry Villa, and Jerry Chingas Pinstriper.
The 21″ DNA front wheel and 16″ DNA rear wheel are wrapped in chrome and match the motorcycle’s chrome details. The Harley hard bags, stretch rear fender, stretch front fender, and full stereo system are some of the other modifications made to the motorcycle. The Backyard Air Ride is also a standout feature of La Chiquilla.
The 2003 Yamaha RoadStar is a stunning tribute to Herrera’s mother and a testament to the power of family. It is a beautiful motorcycle with impressive customization that stands out among other bikes
