“Silvie”
The 2005 Acura TL is a sleek, sporty sedan that has caught the eye of car enthusiasts everywhere. One such enthusiast is Josh Randall, who has taken his TL to the next level with his customized build. In this article, we will take a closer look at Josh’s ride, which he has dubbed “Silvie.”
When Josh purchased his 2005 Acura TL, he knew right away that he wanted to make some modifications to make it his own. He had always loved the 3rd gen TL’s, and he wanted to build the car the way he wanted it, not just by following what others had done.
One of the first modifications on the Josh made to his 2005 Acura TL Silvie was the engine. He added a cold air intake and hydro dipped the engine covers with a carbon fiber design for a unique touch. The chassis received a 5″ drop when aired out, with Air Force shocks in both the front and rear. Dual Viair 444c compressors and ÀirForce double bellow bags over struts provide a smooth ride, while Airlift 3p management ensures that the car’s stance is always on point.
The wheels are Aodhan DS05, with a front size of 18×9.5 +35 and a rear size of 18×9.5 +35. The tires are 235/40/18 all around, and the entire setup is flush with the fenders for a clean look.
The paint on the 2005 Acura TL Silvie is the original OEM silver, but Josh has added a number of carbon fiber body mods to give the car a unique and aggressive look. These include the hood, trunk, fenders, grille, door handles, cowl panel, wiper arms, and window visors, all hydro dipped in carbon fiber. The roof is also wrapped in carbon fiber for a two-tone effect.
Inside, the dashboard has a red dash overlay with a custom-wrapped airbag cover, and the steering wheel is an Endlessrpm custom red carbon fiber OEM design. The console has a 42-piece carbon fiber dash kit, and the head unit is the stock OEM system. Kicker door speakers and a 12″ Kicker Comp subwoofer provide the tunes, while the tinted windows give Silvie an air of mystery.
One of the most striking interior features of his 2005 Acura TL Silvie is the red diamond stitch custom seat covers, which contrast beautifully with the black and red carbon fiber vinyl-wrapped headliner and pillars.
Looking to the future, Josh has his sights set on some “baller” 3-piece wheels and possibly a wrap for the car. But for now, he is content to keep tweaking and improving Silvie as he sees fit. With its unique blend of style and performance, Silvie is a testament to Josh’s dedication to his craft and his passion for the Acura TL.
