What was the inspiration?
I am in a VW family and love the classics, so when I saw the modern Beetle come out with 17" Heritage wheels, I fell in love. I knew I wanted one and give it a true retro flare. We bought the 67 a year later and loved the wheels so much, we put it on it too. So we have a retro modern Beetle, and a modern retro Beetle.
How long did it take you to build?
It's been constantly developing over the last 4 years. I was lucky to have my friend, Chris Atchison, install the Eibach lowering springs, paint my wheels a custom candy teal, and put on the white walls the week after I bought it. From there it's been subtle and not so subtle updates.

Your future plans?
In these pictures, it's on lowering springs, but we recently put on AirLift Performance suspension. That was the big plan. Right now, it's perfect. I don't see making any new changes but fresh paint on the wheels.
Vehicle history
I bought it brand new. I had planned on buying a turbo and buying Heritage wheels to change them out, prior to 2015 they didn't come on any turbo package. In the process of looking, they came out with the 2015 Classic edition which was a 1.8t with the Heritage wheels I wanted, plus it had retro white plaid interior and leather details. It was love at first sight.
Thanks to
First and always, my fiance, Mike Hall. He has been supportive, and even though he's a Chevy truck guy, he has fallen in love with Volkwagens. He's helped me make my vision come true. Chris Atchison, Conceptual Imagez. Brandon Fehrenbach, aka Belt Buckle. Brandon McCoy, Gooch Freehand Pinstriping. Wes Cardy, Cedar Performance. Lastly, all my supportive friends and family.

I'm not sure where to comment about my custom roof rack. It was made for an air-cooled Beetle, but we chopped it up, refit it for the 2015 roofline and made custom brackets based off pics we saw of Wes and Allie Cardy's retro Beetle. Our friend, Brandon Fehrenbach, aka Belt Buckle, helped us make the custom brackets.
Also, pinstripping done on exterior and interior by Brandon McCoy, Gooch Freehand Pinstriping.
