What was the inspiration?
When I first saw this little car, I had a vision of what it could look like. Since I don't draw, like other builders, I could not explain to someone else how to build it, so I built it myself.
How long did it take you to build?
It took 2 years to collect all the one off parts and modify the frame.
How long have you been building?
I have been a auto body repairman for 55 years. I built drag cars in the 60's and 70's and stock cars in the 80's. I started building streetrods and Nova streetmachines in the mid 80's. In the late 90's and 2000's I added streetrod trucks to my repretoire. I have built around 23 trucks during this time. The little Nash was a detour from the usual.
Club Affiliations
I have been affiliated with the Central Illinois Chapter of the National Nostalgic Nova Club, National Nostalgic Nova Club, and the River City Street Rod Club.
Your future plans?
I will be building a 1933 Chevy Cabriolet.
Vehicle history
This car was one of a collection of unusual cars owned by Jim Garrott's Jewelry in Peoria, IL. Mr. Garrott had become ill and they were auctioning his collection. This auction was just down the street from my home and I went out of curiosity. When I saw the Nash, I immediately knew that it was something special. It still had all the original drive train and engine. It had most of the original chrome, interior, and glass.
