Vehicle history
Started as a '56 Golden Hawk hardtop damaged in a barn collapse. In 1983 the top was removed, the frame reinforced and a convertible mechanism from a '64 Dodge Dart grafted in place, along with front and rear sheetmetal and trim from a '53 coupe. The project was then abandoned, changed hands in the late 80's, and I discovered it in a barn in 1995. It took me another 8 years to get it on the road.

Body Mods
In addition to convertible conversion, body was lightly messaged to smooth out, seams filled etc., but I wanted it to look like something the factory could have produced, so kept "kustom" mods to a minimum. Most people think it is a nicely restored, or very minimally modified factory Studebaker convertible.
