How to Make Money from Your Dead Car

May 23, 2022 By Gauge Magazine

dead carIf you’re sitting in a car that’s worth less than $200, you might be wondering what to do with it. With a little creativity and effort, you can turn your Chevy into cash. Not only that, but this could change the way people think about their used cars in the future. Here are some ways you can make money from your dead car

 Sell the parts.

People love to buy used car parts, and they pay big bucks for them. You can pull these parts out of your Junker and sell them online, or you can use a site like Craigslist to find buyers near you. Craigslist is a great place for this because people are already asking for parts, so you don’t have to spend any time advertising.

Get rid of the car.

Forget the garbage and get a free ride. “Recycle it” is not an option anymore when your car becomes trash faster than you can say “prestige class.” A lot of people will pay money to dump their cars, especially if they’re going in the right direction and they know it’s almost impossible to sell them without significant damage.

Sell the car to scrap companies.

Get rid of the steel and use it as a potential moneymaker when you get rid of your car. Should you sell your old car? , or you could offer the parts to them and turn the car into cash when they’re done with it. A lot of people will pay big bucks for used cars that are already torn apart, so this is a good way to get rid of them while still making money on the parts.

Sell it to someone who wants to fix it up.

If you want to get rid of your car and make a little money at the same time, sell it to a mechanically inclined person who likes a challenge. This is a good option if you have some really valuable parts in the car  and they just need to be installed.

Sell Your Car to a Dealer

If you’re not so skilled with cars, but you still want to make some cash from your car, try selling it to a dealer. It’s easy – just go somewhere and give your car away. A dealer will pay you up to $1,300 for your car and then give you some cash for it, too!

Sell Yourself as an Infomercial.

You can’t sell yourself directly through the Internet, but you can be an infomercial. You get paid a ton of money to promote products dealing with your expertise or something like that. They’ll have to have a studio or someplace that’s dedicated to making your infomercials and then they’ll film them there. We hear it’s great fun, but the pay is not so good. Nowadays you could make a good living by doing online business, but it’s all up to you!

Salvage Value

If you’re up for a challenge, try contacting the local junkyard in your area. You can find a junkyard by doing an Internet search or simply by asking around. Offer them a price for your car, and then if they think it’s worth more, you can split the profits with them!

Sell Your Car to a Chop Shop

A chop shop is a place where they take your car and hack it up into pieces that people can use. They’ll use the parts to make new cars and sell them off to people who don’t know better.

Build it.

If you have some knowledge, you can build a better car than the one they are selling at their place. However, if your knowledge is not up to scratch, then do not hunt down parts anymore because they will all be stolen or lost on their way to your house.

Advertise it.

If you do not have the know-how to fix your dead car, you can always advertise it at a place where there is a high turnover of cars. The more people who see it, the better your chances are of getting something out of it.

Conclusion

These are just a few ways you can make money from your dead car. There are many more ways that you can make money from your car if you wait long enough. If you think these ideas are too simple, then it’s time to rethink your concept of selling a used car.
