The Lowdown Roundup Custom Truck and Car Show returned to Water Works Park in Des Moines, Iowa, for its highly anticipated 3rd year, running from June 2nd to June 4th, 2023. This annual event has become a staple in the automotive calendar, drawing enthusiasts from far and wide to celebrate the vibrant culture of custom vehicles.
With 21 vendor booths offering a variety of products and services, attendees had ample opportunities to shop and explore. From automotive accessories to custom apparel, there was something for everyone to enjoy. Additionally, the event catered to families with engaging activities such as axe throwing, face painting for the kids, a kids coloring contest, and delicious ice cream treats.
One of the highlights of the event was the array of fun games designed to entertain attendees of all ages. From the hilariously competitive tortilla slap game to the challenge of breaking apart a frozen shirt and putting it on as quickly as possible, there was no shortage of laughter and excitement. The low limbo added an extra element of thrill, keeping participants on their toes throughout the festivities.
A testament to its growing popularity, this year’s show saw a remarkable doubling in size compared to the previous year, showcasing the increasing enthusiasm and passion within the automotive community. Among the impressive lineup of vehicles, the coveted “Best of Show” title was awarded to Bill Dieterich for his stunning flamed dually, captivating spectators with its striking design and meticulous attention to detail.
Beyond the daytime festivities, the excitement continued into the night with an electrifying nightlife scene at the host hotel. Attendees enjoyed delectable food offerings while marveling at the neon LED underglow contest, where custom lighting installations illuminated the evening with a dazzling display of creativity.
