“Mega Duty”

2017 Ford F250

Owned by: Jason Asher

Photos by: Chris Gosda

In the world of custom truck builds, few carry the depth of passion, precision, and purpose like Jason Asher’s 2017 Ford F250, lovingly named Mega Duty. A project rooted in memorializing his late son, this massive diesel masterpiece represents more than mechanical mastery — it’s a tribute to family, legacy, and the custom truck culture they both cherished.

The Story Behind Mega Duty

The name Mega Duty is a clever combination of Ford’s “AlumiDuty” branding and Jason’s extensive 12-inch cab extension, converting the F250 into a Mega Cab configuration — a feature never offered by Ford. But the name holds deeper meaning, serving as a heartfelt tribute to Jason’s son, who tragically passed away in a dirt bike accident.

“We were both involved in the truck and car scene,” Jason explains. “So I figured this truck would be the perfect memorial.”

From Factory to Fully Custom

The truck began with a modest build, but over the course of two years, Jason and his team transformed it into the showstopping, sky-scraping truck you see today. Built under the guidance of Asher Frame and Body, every component was carefully planned and custom-fabricated for durability, beauty, and performance.

Suspension & Chassis: 28 Inches of Custom Lift

Mega Duty isn’t just lifted — it’s engineered for elevation. Featuring a fully powder-coated chassis and a 28-inch lift courtesy of Backyard Fab, the truck towers with presence. Key suspension details include:

  • Custom bag shocks (front and rear)

  • Airbag system with 4 Viair 444C compressors

  • Fully powder-coated 12-inch frame stretch

  • American Force 28×16 billet wheels wrapped in 44×19.5/28 Interco tires

This setup not only gives the truck insane ride height but allows it to be dialed in for show or street duty.

Engine and Drivetrain

The heart of the truck remains Ford-built — a 409 cubic inch 2017 Power Stroke diesel V8. While much of the driveline remains stock for reliability, Jason enhanced the power and presentation:

  • Tuned and deleted for performance

  • Pusher intakes piping kit

  • Polished billet transmission and oil pans

  • A blend of chrome and polish brings the underhood area to life

All engine work was completed at Asher Frame and Body, ensuring seamless integration with the truck’s other systems.

Exterior Styling & Body Mods

The truck’s exterior is finished in stunning pearl white Valspar basecoat with House of Kolor clear, creating a clean yet commanding appearance. Notable body mods include:

  • 12-inch custom cab extension

  • Custom grille by Overkill Fab

  • Fusion bumpers

  • Raptor steering wheel

  • 95% limo tint

Every piece of bodywork and paint was done in-house, again by Asher Frame and Body, showing Jason’s dedication to precision and personalization.

Interior: Luxury Meets Technology

Inside the Mega Duty, the cabin is wrapped in Katzkin leather seat covers, providing comfort to match its towering presence. A Linkswell Tesla-style head unit powers a Kicker audio system with amplifiers and speakers throughout the cab. The console shift conversion adds a sleek OEM+ feel, while a Raptor steering wheel completes the interior upgrade.

Built With Help and Heart

Jason didn’t build Mega Duty alone. He credits an extensive list of contributors, including:

  • Maxxed Diesel

  • Backyard Fab

  • FASS Fuel Systems

  • American Force Wheels

  • Pusher Intakes

  • Infinite Off-Road

  • Overkill Fab

  • Fusion Bumpers

  • Kingspeed LLC

  • Interco Tires

  • Wilwood Brakes

  • P3 Billet

  • Hornblasters

  • and many others

He also gives special thanks to his dad, “for always believing in me,” and plans to keep evolving the build with graphics, new wheels, and a custom audio setup in the near future.
