Big Mike Mendenhall Memorial Show was held at at the Johnson County Fairgrounds in Franklin, Indiana from Saturday May 22, 2021. Big Mike was known by almost everyone within the car community and if you did not know him personally, you always heard about how amazing he was.
The Big Mike Mendenhall Memorial Show was held at the same time as the Hoosier Vintage Wheels Swap meet which changed ownership back in 2019. Jereme Pelton took over ownership then and has made the show what it is today. Besides being the new owner, he was also best friend to Big Mike. After Big Mikes passing, Pelton changed the name of the Hoosier Vintage Wheel Spring Show to the Big Mike Memorial Show in 2021.
The show was put on so that Mike could continue to do what he loved so much, seeing cars and helping those in the community. A proceed of the benefits went multiple charities with the donation being in his name.
It was uncommon to not see Big Mike at an event as he was a true car show enthusiast. He has also been a true friend and a supporter of us here at Gauge Magazine since the beginning. At one time, he was also a sales representative with us at Gauge Store. All of us here at Gauge Media Group Inc. hold our memories with him close.
The Big Mike Memorial Show brought in over 300 vehicles. From friends and supporters cruising in to show their love and support to his friends and family. Everyone had an amazing time as they shared stories and memories that they had with him.
We know that Big Mike would be beyond proud of the event that Pelton and his staff had put on. This event will forever be on our list of ones to go to and we are excited to see how the show continues to grow.
