SEMA 2022 2WD Trucks and SUVS was held in Las Vegas, Nevada from November 1st-4th at the Las Vegas Convention Center. This year, you were able to turn almost every corner and see a custom C10!
As always, every vehicle in attendance was unique in its own way, but the game was stepped up this year. Every vehicle was stunning on the outside, but the moment the hood was lifted; it was game over.
This year, a 1972 Chevy C10 stole the show in our opinion. Owned by Cameron Bishop from Cutting Edge Hot Rods, he had recently completed this C10 which was inspired by Group 5 Sports Car Racing. Sporting a flat-topped wheel openings which were inspired by a Porsche 917 which also somewhat conceal a custom chassis. The suspension and drivetrain bits have been salvages from a C6Corvette Zo6. There’s no rear bed floor, which shows off the rear-mounted transaxle and saddle fuel tanks. Instead of using an Ls7, Bishop used a modified LS3 to take its place and make similar power to the LS7.
For over a decade, Jeep has been given The SEMA Award as Top Trending SUV/4×4 of the year. That did not change this year for SEMA 2022 2WD Trucks and SUVS as they took home the award again! This SEMA award is given away to new vehicles on the market that offer great opportunities for their consumer to customizer the vehicle. Congratulations to Jeep for continuing on with their title!
All in all, this was the year for C10s and Hot Rods, no doubt. They brought their A game and stole the show! We are ready to head back to the 2023 SEMA Show and bring back this amazing coverage for you!
