HAHAHAHAHA
What was the inspiration?
I wanted to stand out and build something different when I took the truck to shows, cruise nights or any place for that matter. I'm a detailed orientated person so I wanted to build something that had some detail in it no matter where you were standing and looking it. Like everyone else that puts their heart and soul into something, I just wanted to create something that caused a reaction whether it's good or bad.
How long did it take you to build?
It's been ongoing for over 14 years now. I change the interior every couple of years to keep it fresh.
How long have you been building?
30+ years. Started building lowriders back in the 90's to keep myself out of trouble and it's just stuck with me throughout the years.

Disturbing the Peace
Your future plans?
LS swap, new paint, possible Z-rack, redo the bed and air ride setup again for the 6th time.
Vehicle history
I'm the second owner of the truck. I purchased back in 2003 from a farmer that put 20k in a year. It was my daily driver and I used to tow my sport bike around the country. Once it hit 100k I lowered it and it went uphill from there. Drove it like that for a couple of years until I bagged it. I was fortunate enough that one of my friends let me work on my truck at his shop, so I wasn't stuck working on it in the garage during winter. Thats when the truck saw its last winter and all of the madness started.
Thanks to
Jerry Villa and Hugo Herrera. My brothers that have been there to inspire me, cheerlead me and ridicule me the whole way. I'm pretty sure that I would have built an awesome truck but it's so much more awesomer because of them.

“BS Color of Lights”

2002 Chevy S10

Are you a fan of custom rides? If so, then you won’t want to miss the 2002 Chevy S10, known as BS Color of Lights, owned by Jason Showtime. The truck is featured in the February 2023 issue of Gauge Magazine and was photographed by Chris Gosda.

This truck is a true labor of love and has been in the making for over 14 years. The truck was purchased by Showtime in 2003 from a farmer who put 20,000 miles on it in just one year. It was his daily driver and used to tow his sport bike around the country. Once it hit 100,000 miles, he lowered it and began to customize it to stand out at shows, cruise nights, and anywhere he drove it.

The BS Color of Lights is an eye-catching ride that features a black and silver paint scheme with Cadillac taillights, sport truck mirrors, and Lexani LSS-10 wheels. The truck has also been modified with a custom hard-lined air ride setup, which includes Dominator 2500’s and Slam 6’s, and has been equipped with a Viair compressor and AVS manifold. The chassis includes a SSBC polished front and rear brake kit, KP Components 4-link, and Thor Bros control arms.

The interior of the truck is just as impressive as the exterior. Showtime has painted the dash bezel, installed a custom center console with a 16-button control panel, and custom painted door panels with lighted accent panels. He has also removed the door handles and switched to button push to open, moved the window controls to the button panel in the center console, and installed LCD pods on the brake and gas pedals. In addition, there are 13 LCD screens throughout the entire truck and custom acrylic speaker boxes.

Under the hood, the 2002 Chevy S10 is equipped with a 4.3-liter engine with a K&N cold air intake and painted stock engine. The truck also features a custom Optima battery with a 4″ LCD screen molded into it.

The BS Color of Lights has won many awards over the years, and it’s easy to see why. The truck is a masterpiece that represents Showtime’s dedication to building something unique and eye-catching. Showtime plans to continue customizing the truck and has future plans for an LS swap, new paint, a possible Z-rack, and redoing the bed and air ride setup for the sixth time.

Don’t miss the opportunity to see this incredible ride in person at a car show or cruise night near you. If you’re a fan of custom rides, then the BS Color of Lights is a must-see!
