Lone Star Throwdown

September 30, 2025 By KZ

If you love custom trucks, lifted rides, slammed classics, and the kind of event that brings the entire truck scene together, then you already know Lone Star Throwdown (aka LST 2025) was the place to be. From February 21–23, 2025, Conroe, Texas was once again the center of the custom world as thousands of enthusiasts rolled into the Lone Star Expo Center and Montgomery County Fairgrounds for three straight days of jaw-dropping builds, good vibes, and plenty of Texas hospitality.

This year’s event went down at the Lone Star Expo Center & Montgomery County Fairgrounds in Conroe, TX, about 45 minutes north of Houston. The mix of indoor space, outdoor show fields, and plenty of vendor spots made it the perfect backdrop for the custom lifestyle.

Like always, LST capped the show at 2,000 registered vehicles—and yes, spots sold out fast. That limited number is part of what makes LST such a heavy-hitting show: every ride on display is something worth looking at.

Spectators got weekend wristbands for just $20, while show vehicles locked in for $80, which included two passes.

Highlights from LST 2025

  • Top Builds Everywhere You Look – Whether you were into bagged OBS Chevys, lifted diesel rigs, or fully shaved and tucked classics, there was something to drool over at every corner.

  • The Awards – The Top 100 plaques were as competitive as ever, but the crown jewel was the Best of Show “BAE” trophy, which this year went to Frank Walsh for his gorgeous ’75 Chevy C10 built by Lakeside Speed & Shine with interior work from Mobile Toys.

  • Community Energy – Beyond the builds, it’s about hanging out with friends, meeting new people, and catching up with builders and shops that keep the scene alive.

This year, the forecast called for some rain over the weekend, but that didn’t stop hardcore enthusiasts from showing up. Tents, tarps, and detailing supplies were everywhere—because when you bring a showpiece, you’re going to keep it looking fresh no matter what.

LST also stayed firm on its rules: no glass bottles, no pets, no stock vehicles, no golf carts/ATVs, and definitely no burnouts or parking-lot takeovers. Law enforcement stepped up with a big presence this year to keep things safe, especially outside of show hours. Inside the gates, though? Smooth, family-friendly, and all about the trucks.

Why Lone Star Throwdown 2025 Stood Out

  • The Builds: Some of the most detailed, creative custom trucks in the country debuted here.

  • The Culture: You don’t just attend LST—you experience it. It’s a reunion, a car culture showcase, and a Texas-sized party all rolled into one.

  • The Exposure: Builders and brands know this is where the spotlight shines. From YouTube features to Instagram reels, LST 2025 was everywhere online.

  • The Prestige: Getting into the Top 100 or snagging a “Best Of” award at LST is a career-level highlight for a builder or shop.

Lone Star Throwdown 2025 once again lived up to its reputation as the premier custom truck show in Texas—and one of the biggest in the nation. Between the unique judging system, the capped vehicle count, and the sheer quality of rides that show up, it’s a bucket-list event for anyone serious about custom culture.

If you missed it this year, circle the dates for 2026. Trust us: there’s nothing else quite like LST in Conroe, Texas.
