6 Modifications To Make Your Car Go Faster

May 25, 2021 By Gauge Magazine

Car Go FasterIf there’s one thing guys share an interest in, it’s the ‘need for speed;’ nobody likes a slowpoke! A fast car is every car lover’s dream come true. It gives you an enormous amount of pride mixed with a rush of adrenaline when your car can outrace every other car on the road. Unfortunately, that’s not always the case to make  your Car Go Faster.

You can probably remember your first car. Remember that time when you stared down at the driver next to you when you were stopped at a red light? Remember how you got smoked when you tried to race his American Muscle? That was a humbling moment for the young person in you, and you vowed that one day, you’ll drive a powerful car with speedy wheels and a roaring growl.

The good news is that this is your chance to achieve that fast car you’ve always wanted. In this article, you’ll discover six modifications that’ll take your car from 0 to 60 in seconds.

What You Need To Know About Speed

Before we dive deeper into the nitty-gritty of car mods, you first need to understand how a car accelerates first.

The speed of any vehicle is a concoction of electronics, pyrotechnics, physics, chemistry, and common sense. Simply put, its weight, engine efficiency, performance, as well as the computers in your car all are important factors that affect the speed of your vehicle.

The two most notable elements a car needs to boost its velocity are air and fuel. These two components combust in the engine to create the force needed to power up the whole car and propel it forward. The more air and fuel you can inject into the engine, the more power it can produce.

This is the main reason why most car modifications are focused on pushing more air and fuel into the engine. Throughout the course of this article, you’ll find different ways to increase the air and fuel intake of your car, as well as make your vehicle more efficient in doing those things.

Speeding Up Your Ride

Here’s a list of practical modifications tips you can do to boost your car’s speed:

  • Increase Air Intake

As mentioned earlier, the air takes up half the equation when it comes to increasing the speed of a car and makes a Car Go Faster. Upgrading the air intake in your car will certainly boost its speed. If you don’t know how to spot one, it’s the long pipe with the accordion-looking air filter.

Its job is pretty straightforward: it takes in more cold air that’ll boost the torque and horsepower of the motor. Yes, cold air is better for acceleration because it’s denser than hot air. Condensed air allows your engine to breathe better and burn fuel more efficiently.

  • Fuel System Upgrade

Of course, you cannot disregard the second half of the speed equation: fuel. Too much air and not enough fuel will result in pre-detonation–blowing your engine up.

This is why improving your fuel intake is equally important as bumping up the air intake to achieve your desired speed and make Car Go Faster. You do this by installing larger fuel lines, high-flow fuel pumps, and filters.

  • NOS System

If you’re looking for an extreme adrenaline rush and really want your vehcile to fly through the streets, installing a Nitrous Oxide (NOS) may just be the right option for you.

A NOS system helps supply the oxygen needed for combustion in your engine. Short bursts of oxygen generate extra power for your car to accelerate.

As exciting as the NOS system may sound, unfortunately, only a few states allow installing it in vehicles.

  • Performance Chipset

These are aftermarket chips that let drivers adjust their vehicles engine capacity. Because manufacturers set limits in their cars, performance chipsets override the car’s factory settings and provide some level of customization to increase speed.

  • Brakes

This may sound counterintuitive, but installing high-performance brakes will allow your vehicle to stop and go effortlessly so you can resume your driving spree.

  • Suspension

Just like brakes, upgrading your  suspension is more of a safety modification that can help you drive at high velocity with ease.

As you increase the power of your engine, your suspension needs to be able to handle that power in order to maintain stability and glide through the road.

Takeaway

Cruising full speed is an experience like no other. It’s an experience every vehicle lover lusts over. That’s why if you’re looking to speed up your car, consider the modifications mentioned above. In your speed runs, make sure to buckle up and ride safe.
