The benefits of Getting New Tires For Your Car

September 1, 2021 By Gauge Magazine

new tiresCars are an essential element for individuals and families in the world today. Although your tires are the only component of your vehicle that touches the road, they often get overlooked when it comes to maintenance, especially by those that are not car enthusiasts. Your vehicle and your bank account suffers as a result of this, and while we understand that tires may be just a little more expensive than you’ve budgeted for, this is one of the most important upgrades that your car needs from time to time. If you are in Canada, you could always try out Canada Custom Autoworks, a tire shop in Calgary with affordable prices and the best results. To be frank, without taking care of or replacing your tires, you’re putting yourself at risk. If this isn’t enough of a reason and you need a little more of a push to do so, have a look at some of the benefits of replacing your car tires.

Better traction

Your tires are responsible for a myriad of functions including absorbing road shock, supporting your vehicle load, braking, and the transmission of traction. The way your car handles on the road in a variety of different weather conditions depends on its traction, which is your car’s ability to grip the road’s surface. This ability is severely decreased during wetter seasons when water accumulates on roads. Tire tread depth is essential to a good performing tire, and if not at the proper tread, you stand the risk of losing control of your vehicle.

Enhanced driving experience

There is no doubt that your driving experience changes drastically from the first day of getting your brand-new vehicle to a few months later. As we’ve mentioned, your tires are the only part of your vehicle that touches the road and takes the worst abuse. Driving over poorly maintained road surfaces, improper maintenance, and foreign objects are just a few causes that lessen the life of your tires. New tires with increased tread depth offer a smoother ride with greater noise reduction, thereby enhancing your overall driving experience.

Better performance

Normal daily driving causes wear and tear on your tires, and you may notice uneven wear and tear on specific areas of the tire, or just on one or two tires. This is due to several reasons such as over or under inflation and poor wheel alignment. Then there’s road damage to consider, and the most common form of this is a fault in the sidewall of your tire, which is often a result of blowouts. Sidewall damage is irreparable, and not only poses a safety risk but also greatly decreases your tire’s performance. Replacing your tires offers better performance because all potential issues will be looked at at the same time, and things like wheel balancing, alignment, brake pads, and any other mechanical problems will be resolved all in one check. The quality of your tires affects almost every part of your driving, from stopping to the way you turn, and the surface noise produced as you drive.

Increased mileage

If the thought of getting more gas mileage for your buck excites you, perhaps it’s time to look at replacing your tires. Your tires require a specific amount of air pressure to perform optimally, and not maintaining this is one of the biggest causes of using more gas than you should. This only ends in tears, with you often spending more on the overall maintenance than you would have on a new set of tires. The diameter of a new full treaded tire is more than that of a worn-out one, and each set of tires is designed to offer a specific number of miles of travel. The more worn out your tires are, the more this mileage decreases. And in a world of increasing fuel prices, you need to do all you can to save.

With all of this considered, the benefits offered by getting a new set of tires far exceed the cost of the tires. However, you should always remember that your new tires are designed for longevity and durability, and it will take regular maintenance on them for you to have a better driving experience with optimal performance. It is ultimately your safety on the road that matters.
