Original Cost
$25,000
Build Cost
$40,000 plus and does not include any of my time, family or friends.
What was the inspiration?
The love of building cars and to take something already cool and try to make it even cooler.
How long did it take you to build?
Off and on for about 3 years. Still adding and changing things to this day. The car was completed about 3 years ago.
How long have you been building?
I have been working and playing around with cars since I was a teenager. I did not truly build a car from ground up until 2004. My son and I with help from family and friends started this journey back in 2004 when we both decided to build his 1997 Chevy Cavalier and my 1966 Nova. Both cars was featured in Gauge Magazine May 2010.
Club Affiliations
Hoosier street rods and classics
Your future plans?
To continue to always try daily to put God first above all things. Continue to work on and build cars as a hobby with family and friends and especially to be able to share the love of cars with my Grandchildren Cooper, Maverick and Nova. To continue to go to car shows with family and friends and keep the history alive of these older cars.
Vehicle history
This is original 51,000 mile car when we purchased it. When we bought the car I got the original LT1 motor, Muncie 4 speed and original wheels and tires. Everyone gave me a hard time about putting it back to all original and I think once you see the car maybe you will agree with how the car turned out and the custom look was the way to go. However I'm keeping all of the original drivetrain because a car is only original once. I plan on having the original motor painted and cleaned up as well as the Muncie 4 speed, the wheels and tires to stay with the car and show in my building when I get it completed someday. The gentleman I purchased the car from had a 383 stroker motor built from a speed shop in Fort Wayne Indiana dyno at 456 horsepower. He put a 5 speed manual in which I will be replacing this winter with a Tremec 5 speed.
Thanks to
My wife Sheryl for all of the love and support you give me daily and allowing me to continue to buy and build cars as a hobby. Oh and I can't forget to thank the money tree in the back yard because we all know what it takes to do these restorations. Also I could not have built this car without your help and the long hours we worked together to finish.

My son Derrick, daughter Megan and my Mom Jewel for helping on the car as well. Could not have done this without you guys.

Alan Anderson: Thank you for allowing me to work on the car at your shop Picture Perfect located in Alexandria Indiana. Thank you for the long hours and work you put into this car and especially your friendship. Thank you for showing me how to do body work, paint and all of the tricks and secrets for restoring and working on the cars. I hope someday we can do another one.

Chuck Baledge thank you for the awesome work on laying out the ghost flames on the hood and painting them. Thank you for helping on the paint as well and I also want to thank you for showing me how to do body work and little tricks along the way.

Dusty Bargo thank you for helping me to learn how to do body work when I first started back in 2004 on my 1966 Nova. You are awesome and truly missed around the Hudson house.

Steve McCoy my car buddy: Thanks to you and the friendship we have had over the years and the long hours we have spent working on each others cars.

Anderson Automotive Color located in Anderson Indiana: I can't thank you all enough for all of your help and support when picking out paint and materials to work on the car. Wanda thank you for all of your advise and teaching me things along the way. Tim you are truly going to be missed by all.

Art's Trim Shop located in Anderson Indiana: Jack, thank you to you and your team for such an another awesome job on the interior. After (3) years it still looks amazing and holding up as it should.

ProKote of Indy: Dawn and John you guys are the best and miss seeing you guys. Thank you for all of the powder coating you did for us and jumping through hoops to get us taking care of every time I would come in. By the way the Black Twilight powder coating in engine bay as well as the intake manifold still looks awesome and gets complements all the time.

All done in custom leather with black and green. Tried to leave as close to stock look as possible but make it better. The guys at Arts Trim Shop did such an awesome job with everything.

Custom fiberglass hand made console painted body color. There is hand made carbon fiber pieces throughout out the car.

Took dash out, kick panels and any plastic pieces and painted with plastic adhesion promoter and black paint. Looks brand new after painted.

Took all interior out and removed all old seam sealer, sanded and sand blasted the entire inside of the car. Sprayed self etching primer, put new seam sealer down and then sprayed entire inside of car with LIZARD skin heat and sound deadening material. What a difference this made driving the car with noise and heat.

Upholstery Description
Door panel has custom hand made carbon fiber pieces for the door openers and where you grab the door to shut. Also "A" pillars, upper door panels, and lower door seals are all carbon fiber from Anvil.
