What was the inspiration?
Owning a square body s10 was a high school dream. The tilt dancing bed inspiration came from seeing Jeremy French at Carl Casper dancing and spinning his bed....fell n love at first site.
How long did it take you to build?
We are in our 4th year building this truck and its definitely not done.
How long have you been building?
I have been building lowriders and mini trucks for almost 30 years.
Club Affiliations
We are solo now. We was in Luxurious cc from 2004- 2008. Been solo since 2009.
Your future plans?
We rewrap the truck every year. The newest design I'm in love with and will build around it. So not much will change but it will have changes for sure. A 4th stage is being added this year and a spinning bed and hood is in the near future for sure. Plan on added chrome headlines to the hydraulic lines. Chrome and engraving for the suspension as well. There will always be surprises so please keep ur eyes out for those.
Vehicle history
The truck was bought In pieces July 4th 2019. Had a very generic single dump bed and 2 pumps. We got started on the rebuild right away. It seen its first show in the middle of August at the dedication show in 2019. In the end of 2020 We replaced the single tilt with a 3 stage rack built by Cris Ponder with the help of his club Westside CC and advice from Jeremy French. By the end of 2022 I went through 3 beds and 5 wraps. It was a learning process for sure.

Get ready to be enchanted by the allure of Tiki Lux, a 1992 Chevrolet S10 extended cab with a dancing bed lovingly owned by Jay and Courtney Hammond. This stunning lowrider masterpiece holds a special meaning, blending a Tiki theme with elements from their business and former car club.

Inspiration and Build

For Jay, the dream of owning a square body 1992 Chevrolet S10 was a long-standing aspiration from his high school days. The inspiration for the tilt dancing bed came to him after witnessing Jeremy French’s mesmerizing display at Carl Casper. A love-at-first-sight moment led to the creation of this extraordinary lowrider.

The journey to bring Tiki Lux to life has been ongoing for four years, a testament to the passion and dedication poured into every detail. With the support of family and friends, the build has been an incredible experience, filled with bartering and invaluable assistance.

Future Plans

Tiki Lux is a work in progress, and Jay has exciting plans for its continued transformation. The truck’s exterior will see a rewrap every year, with the newest design serving as the focal point for future enhancements. An impressive 4th stage and a spinning bed and hood are just some of the spectacular features on the horizon. Chrome headlines for the hydraulic lines and exquisite chrome and engraving for the suspension will elevate its visual appeal even further. With Jay’s penchant for surprises, spectators can expect delightful additions that will leave them in awe.

Vehicle History

The journey of Tiki Lux began on July 4th, 2019, when it was acquired in pieces. It had a generic single dump bed and 2 pumps, setting the stage for the transformation to come. By August 2019, the truck made its debut at the dedication show, marking the first milestone in its evolution. Since then, it has undergone multiple iterations, with three beds and five wraps, providing invaluable learning experiences.

Gratitude to the Dream Team

Jay and Courtney extend their heartfelt appreciation to the incredible individuals who made Tiki Lux possible. Harold Crain’s impeccable interior and fabrication work, Cris Ponder’s expertise in suspension, and zrack and fabrication, Jeremy Naylor’s body work, paint, and fabrication skills, and Brent Green’s invaluable welding and mechanical assistance all contributed to this magnificent build. Additional thanks go to Wilgus Sallie, Aaron Oliver, Matthew Slamka, Luxurious Wraps, llc, and others for their unwavering support.

Conclusion

Tiki Lux is a testament to the dedication and passion of its creators.
