“Silver Rose”
Owned by: Conner Cadwalder

“I’ve been around the scene since I was born,” Conner shared. “My dad took me to car and truck shows before I could even walk. I always wanted my own S-10 to cruise the streets—but I also dreamed of having a ’62 Impala lowrider. When I came across this truck, I knew it was the one the moment I laid eyes on it.”
Originally bought bone stock in SoCal back in 2002 by Ray Hernandez, the truck already had an incredible backstory. It was built for SEMA 2002 and 2003, and it became the first S-10 in the world to feature a 1962 Impala dash. Back then, it was finished in Candy Apple Red with a matching white bed interior and was featured in Street Trucks and Sport Truck Magazine.
But as years passed, the truck changed hands—traveling from California to Oklahoma, Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia, and Alabama—before tragedy struck. It sat abandoned for over five years after a tree collapsed onto it, crushing the hood, roof, and bed. Then, in 2024, Conner spotted it listed on Facebook Marketplace, and fate stepped in.
“I knew the truck had history,” Conner said. “Even with all the damage, I could see its potential. I just had to bring it back to life.”
A Four-Month Resurrection
Restoring Silver Rose wasn’t a simple cleanup—it was a full-on revival. Working closely with Indy Body Werks, Conner spent roughly four months transforming the damaged S-10 into something show-ready once again.
The team stripped it down, repaired every dent, and gave it a complete facelift. The truck now wears a custom one-off silver paint mixed with heavy metallic and diamond flake, laid down in PPG materials for that deep, radiant shine under sunlight. The new finish perfectly matches its name—Silver Rose—symbolizing beauty, resilience, and the refined craftsmanship that went into its rebirth.
“The truck’s beautiful, and the interior reminds me of a rose,” Conner explained. “It just felt right to name it that.”
Inside, the Snow White leather upholstery with maroon stitching and matching maroon carpet gives the truck a soft, luxurious vibe. It’s classy but still has that mini-truck flair. The interior was hand-crafted by Doug Scott, keeping the original ’62 Impala dash, steering wheel, and seats—a nod to both its history and Conner’s lowrider roots.
Classic Design, Modern Attitude
The truck lays frame thanks to a custom handmade four-link setup paired with Slam Specialties airbags, an Air Ride Tech manifold, and dual Viair 480 compressors. Every time it airs out, it plants itself perfectly flat on the pavement—a sight that stops people in their tracks.
Rolling on 20×8.5-inch Riddler wheels wrapped in 35-series tires, Silver Rose nails the balance between street cruiser and showstopper. The stance, the shimmer, the sound—it’s everything Conner dreamed of growing up watching his dad’s builds.
From top to bottom, the bodywork is a testament to craftsmanship. Originally built by Ray Hernandez and now perfected by Indy Body Werks, the S-10 features:
-
Fully shaved exterior—doors, gas door, tailgate, rear bumper, wiper cowl, third brake light, and rain gutters
-
Billet phantom grille with an Envoy front bumper
-
Sport mirrors and a Grant Fab Customs wiper cowl & Cali combo
-
Custom pop-up license plate and Caddy taillights molded into the bed
The clean lines and smooth body panels make it look like it was milled from a single piece of metal. Every detail was meant to reflect simplicity with style.
Interior & Audio: The Lowrider Touch
What truly sets Silver Rose apart is its 1962 Impala-inspired cabin. From the dash and steering wheel to the Impala seats, the throwback theme flows seamlessly into modern audio upgrades.
The system—built with Alpine head unit, amps, speakers, and video system—delivers crisp sound without compromising the classic look. The I Did It Customs steering column and shifter add another touch of sophistication, merging comfort with classic form.
Even though Silver Rose is already show-ready, Conner has more plans in the works. “Next, I want to body drop it and throw in a killer sound system with a legacy ragtop,” he said. With his drive and family inspiration, there’s no doubt the next version will take things even further.
