Going on a Land Rover Camping Trip? 5 Essentials to Bring with You

September 5, 2023 By Gauge Magazine

land roverIf you have watched any of the commercials featuring Land Rover, then it’s easy to see why these vehicles are so appealing. The sight of them bouncing over rocks and plowing through rivers is enticing. You can easily do those things with one of these vehicles, and you can bring your family members or friends along for the ride.

You can head to a Land Rover dealership if you’re ready to get yourself one. There should be one near you with plenty of options. If you’re serious about taking a camping trip in one of these vehicles, though, you should consider carefully when packing for your excursion. Here are some must-have items that are certain to get plenty of use when you have personalized your land rover .

Lanterns or Flashlights

You will certainly want to bring along plenty of flashlights, lanterns, or both. Battery-operated Coleman lanterns are always nice to have with you when you’re setting up your camp or trying to take care of other chores and the night is coming on. Flashlights are useful for hiking at dusk or when you need to go relieve yourself in the bushes.

Sleeping Bags

You will want to load up your Land Rover with some sleeping bags as well. You should have one per person, and you should make sure they fit nicely inside your tent.

You should check to make sure you fit in your sleeping bag as well. Larger individuals need sleeping bags that will accommodate them, and they’re not always made in a one-size-fits-all style.

Jackets or Hoodies

If you’re hiking around during the day, it might be hot enough to make you sweat. However, when night falls, the temperature drops, especially if you are going camping in the spring or fall.

You can combat that by taking a light jacket or hoodie with you. You may not need them during the day, but once the sun goes down, you will be happy you brought along some layers.

Food

You will certainly want to bring plenty of food for your trip. You might bring a cooler with sandwiches, or maybe you’ll have some raw food elements if you feel comfortable cooking while you’re in the woods.

You should also bring some snacks. Remember that if you’re going to be hiking, you will be burning up a lot more calories than usual. You will need high-calorie snacks to replenish your energy reserves throughout the day.

Canteens

You should also make sure you have canteens loaded with water that you can carry with you. The kind with straps that you can carry around your neck often do nicely.

If you don’t bring canteens that you can refill, then water bottles you purchase at a store can work as well. Remember that you will want to stay hydrated as you hike, climb, and take part in other activities that will sap your energy. It doesn’t hurt to bring along some sports drinks that have electrolytes as well.

All of these should make their way into your Land Rover.
