The Slamology 2024 Awards, held from June 7-9th at Lucas Oil Raceway, highlighted an extraordinary weekend of celebration and recognition in the automotive world. This prestigious segment of the Slamology festival honored the creativity, skill, and passion of participants across various automotive disciplines, from custom car builders to audio enthusiasts and hydraulic innovators.
The Slamology 2024 Awards ceremony was the culmination of a series of competitions that spanned the entire weekend. Entrants from around the country showcased their vehicles in categories such as Best Paint, Best Audio System, Best Custom Modification, and the highly coveted Best of Show. Each category was designed to recognize specific aspects of automotive customization, highlighting the meticulous attention to detail and innovative approaches of the participants.
One of the key highlights of the Slamology 2024 Awards was the diversity of entries. Vehicles ranged from classic cars with elegant, traditional modifications to cutting-edge builds featuring the latest in technology and design. This diversity not only showcased the broad spectrum of automotive culture but also encouraged a cross-pollination of ideas and techniques among participants.
Through all of the awards, there are a select few that hold a special place in all of the Slamology staff heart. One being the Ricky Burke award. Ricky was someone who stood for kindness, compassion, and a significant presence in the car show community. This is not an award that we take lightly, and is one that takes an entire year to pick someone for. This year, Mike Smith took home the Ricky Burke award.
Another award is given to those who have put 20 years into the show. This group of individuals have taken each year by the horns and have assisted in shaping it into what it is today. We cannot thank you enough James Reed AKA Billy Bob, Chad McCracken, and Mike England. Thank you guys for your years of dedication and hard work!
The Hats Off Award is given to an employee that has shown true dedication and care towards Slamology. This year, the award was given to Kz Winebrinner. Kz has been working this show since she was 13 years old starting with stamping hansd at the spectator gate. Each year she spends hours the week before the shows behind the scenes to make sure that the show runs smoothly so you can all enjoy the event with no issues! Thank you for the past 15 years and we are thankful to have you apart of the Slamology family!
Beyond the competition, the Slamology 2024 Awards fostered a sense of community and camaraderie among participants. The event served as a platform for builders, designers, and enthusiasts to share their experiences and celebrate each other’s achievements. This community aspect was integral to the atmosphere of the event, making it a memorable experience for everyone involved.
The Slamology 2024 Awards at Lucas Oil Raceway was more than just a ceremony; it was a celebration of the art and passion that define the automotive customization community. As the awards were distributed, participants and spectators alike were reminded of the creativity and dedication that fuel this vibrant industry. Looking forward to future events, Slamology continues to inspire and motivate enthusiasts and professionals to push the boundaries of what is possible in automotive artistry.
