Top New Car Safety Features for 2025

October 29, 2025 By Gauge Magazine

Car Safety Features In 2025, automotive technology is expected to reach new heights. Some of the most impressive new features are designed to improve comfort and enhance the protection of drivers and their passengers. If you’re in the market for a new vehicle, here are a few of the best safety features to look out for in 2025.

Blind Spot Monitoring

Many collisions happen because drivers can’t see traffic in their blind spots while changing lanes. To help with this, blind spot monitoring systems in newer vehicles can alert you to approaching traffic, improving your response time while reducing your risk of accidents. Blind spot detection systems can decrease lane-change accidents by 14%.

Smart Climate Control

The temperature in your car isn’t just about comfort. It’s about the health and wellness of you and your passengers, too. Modern vehicles have sensors that monitor cabin air quality, helping you create a healthier environment. In addition to air quality monitoring, some models also have CO2 detection capabilities to help prevent drowsiness from recirculated stale air.

Advanced Crash Protection

The government mandates certain vehicle safety standards, including crash protection features like restraints and airbags. Federal regulations require only two front-seat airbags, but most new cars have at least six, with some offering up to ten.

Forward Collision Warning Systems

Many vehicle models already come equipped with forward collision warning systems. Newer technology uses lasers, cameras and radar to detect objects in front of your car. Recent models combine forward collision warning and automatic emergency braking systems for improved effectiveness. This means your car can automatically activate the brakes if you do not respond or are unable to do so quickly.

Lane Technology

Accidents often occur when vehicles drift into other lanes. However, many 2025 vehicle models feature advanced technology that gently nudges the car back into its lane without taking control away from the driver. This system can alert you and help prevent collisions by making corrections before you even realize they are needed.

Automatic Emergency Braking Systems

Another feature to look for on your next vehicle purchase is automatic emergency braking. This technology uses radar sensors mounted at the front of your car to alert drivers to potential collisions and prevent crashes. Research shows that automatic emergency braking systems can reduce rear-end collisions by as much as 50%.

Automatic Crash Notification

While most safety features help prevent a crash, some are designed to help in the event of an accident. Automatic crash notification systems can send out an alert if the vehicle’s sensors detect a crash or the airbags deploy. Once a crash occurs, this system sends your car’s GPS location to first responders so they can find you and provide assistance. Many automakers previously charged for this service. Now, it’s often a free feature on new vehicle models.

Remember, buying the right vehicle in 2025 means finding an option that aligns well with your lifestyle and driving needs while keeping you safe. Car accidents can have costly, even deadly consequences. In 2022, the state of California saw 4,488 fatalities from car accidents. New technologies are being rolled out to make driving safer for everyone. By familiarizing yourself with the types of technological advances available on new vehicles, you’re likely to find the perfect one that meets your needs and preferences.
