What was the inspiration?
When purchasing this car I originally was just happy to have been able to purchase one of my dream cars. This car was a daily driver with only a few new modifications( upgraded turbo and tune) it wasn’t until after my diagnosis with Endometrosis in 2018 that my true inspiration started. This disease had consumed my life and I quickly realized nobody talked about it or knew much about it. I decided that this is what my dream car could really do. Which is where the name came from and in those moments I realized that this was a passion to raise awareness about something nobody talked about. When building my car I kept every aspect back to my diagnosis from the colors to the name. Every year in March which is Endometriosis Awareness Month I create a new post on my Instagram(15wrxgirl) giving an update on my journey through this horrible disease and to bring awareness for other ladies out there to not be ashamed of what they are going through.
How long did it take you to build?
4 years
How long have you been building?
This is the first car I’ve built.
Your future plans?
My future plan for this car is custom headlights and taillights, front mount intercooler, Invidia downpipe, E85, relocating turbo to be more visible for showing, carbon fiber under hood accessories, battle aero wing, custom rear seats to match the front, adding more ground effects, brembos, new digital steering wheel, a new upgraded trunk with custom hardlines for air and upgraded flooring system to add custom lighting throughout the trunk.
Vehicle history
The history of this vehicle when it started was pretty stock it did not have much done to it other than a cold air intake and a boost controller and was a daily drive for 2 years.
Thanks to
My husband(Brad Sherry) for all the hard work he has put into building my dream car just the way I imagined it.

2015 Subaru WRXA car is more than just a mode of transportation—it can be a symbol, a message, and even a form of advocacy. For Desirae Sherry, her 2015 Subaru WRX, known as Endo War, is more than just a build; it’s a personal battle cry against stage 4 Endometriosis, a disease she was diagnosed with in 2018. Through her passion for cars, Desirae has created a vehicle that not only turns heads but also raises awareness for a condition that too often goes unspoken.

The Inspiration Behind Endo War

When Desirae first purchased her 2015 Subaru WRX for $21,000, she was simply fulfilling a dream of owning one of her favorite cars. Initially, it was a daily driver with minor performance modifications, including an upgraded turbo and tune. However, after her Endometriosis diagnosis, her vision for the car changed dramatically. She saw the opportunity to use her build as a platform to bring awareness to the disease, ensuring every modification had a connection to her journey—from the color scheme to the name itself.

Every March, which marks Endometriosis Awareness Month, Desirae shares updates on her personal battle via Instagram (@15wrxgirl), using her car to start conversations and encourage women to speak openly about their struggles.

Building a Dream

With a total build cost of $20,000 and over four years of dedication, Endo War has transformed into a stunning, custom-built masterpiece. This is Desirae’s first full build, and she has plans to continue evolving it with additions such as custom headlights and taillights, a front-mount intercooler, an Invidia downpipe, an E85 conversion, a relocated turbo for better display, and carbon fiber under-hood accessories.

Performance and 2015 Subaru WRX Engine Mods

Desirae’s WRX packs a punch under the hood. The 2.0L turbocharged Subaru engine features:

  • JR Tuned ECU
  • Cobb intake and boost controller
  • Perrin inlet hose
  • Force Performance Blue upgraded turbo
  • Invidia R400 cat-back exhaust
  • Perrin engine cover, radiator shroud, and fender shrouds
  • Boomba Racing engine bay caps

2015 Subaru WRX Custom Suspension and Wheels

To achieve both form and function, Endo War rides on an Airlift Performance air suspension system, with ViAir compressors providing precise adjustments. The setup sits on aggressive 18×11 Cosmis XT-006R wheels wrapped in 295/30R18 tires.

A Unique Visual Identity

The 2015 Subaru WRX stunning red, white, grey, and black paint splatter wrap, completed by Performance Wraps, adds a dramatic and meaningful aesthetic. Complementing the look are carefully selected exterior modifications, including:

  • VIS Racing V2 hood
  • JDM-spec grille
  • STI wing
  • Angry Acorn molded widebody kit, handcrafted by her husband, Brad Sherry

A 2015 Subaru WRX Custom Interior

The inside of Endo War is as impressive as its exterior. The build features:

  • Idoing head unit
  • Skar amplifiers powering Harman Kardon speakers and Kicker subwoofers
  • Custom Braum seats
  • Carbon fiber accents throughout
  • 20% tinted windows for added style and privacy

Looking to the Future

While Endo War is already an eye-catching, conversation-starting build, Desirae has no plans to stop anytime soon. Her future modifications include Brembo brakes, a battle aero wing, custom rear seats to match the front, additional ground effects, a digital steering wheel, and a custom trunk with hardlines and upgraded lighting.

Special Thanks

A project of this magnitude wouldn’t be possible without support. Desirae extends her heartfelt gratitude to her husband, Brad Sherry, for his dedication and craftsmanship in bringing her vision to life.

Final Thoughts

More than just a show car, Endo War is a symbol of strength, awareness, and advocacy. Desirae Sherry has taken her passion for automotive customization and turned it into a platform for change, proving that the car community is about more than just horsepower—it’s about making an impact.

Stay tuned for more incredible builds on Gauge Magazine!
