Vehicle history
It started as a 6 cyl hardtop 1968 Camaro i bought it 6" deep in mud,I had a design in my head for a 2 seat roadster Camaro.when trying to think of a way to add cool factor i decided to add all wheeel drive into the factor.looking at all the all wheel drive platforms ,the trailblazer ss seemed to be the best power.I bought a wrecked one hit in the rear and started making a custom frame for the SSAWD Camaro. The name SSAWD fit because of the Super Sport all wheel drive ,plus i was cutting so much metal to make it work.Once the frame was made up with the trailblazer ss frontend i narrowed the trailblazer 14 bolt rearend 6" and added a 4-link rear suspenion with Firestone bags and Ridetech shockwave struts and digital controls.started mocking up the 68 Camaro front sheet metal, once it was mounted on the back of the car it was too rusty so we decided it would be cooler to add a 2010 rear clip. After locating one of them and doing some measuring it was a go.we got the rear body mounted up and wanted a wider rear wheel,so we used a demention wide body kit to widen it 6" in the rear ,added their ground effects,to the scammed stance it had to be heavily modifyed to fit the 68 front end.seats are moved back 11" dash pulled in 6",windsheild layed back 6",doors are custom made 2" longer, front fenders 2" longer and 2" wider, hood is custom built stinger style scoop, custom made rollbars with carbon fiber speedster humps, pace performance engine sold me on a lsx376 crate motor,we added Holly Dominator EFI and intake manifold, then we added a F1 procharger with 18-20 Lbs of boost, giving us 800hp.Bowler performance Transmissions built up the 4L70E also from T.B.S.S.,Be Cool Radiator and Spal fan help keep it cool.Kooks headers and Corsa stainless exhaust out back,MBM brake supplied the master cylinder and a big brake package with hydro-booster help me stop hard,a fuel cell was built for the trunk and Holly twin pump fuel pump and filter were mounted and wired up,now that it was all mocked up we used US Chemicals fiberglass and filler to finish the body work and prospray primer 2k sprayed with SATA spray gun,Prospray Orange and Estasy Pearl was layed down.I added stripes with a factory feel and using Badger Airbrushes added details like the SSAWD logo. Now that the exterior was done,we went to the interior.Custom set of seats from Mid America Motorworks were added with auto custom carpets.we fabbed up a custom dash adding chrome accents and a Dakota Digital gauge cluster was added in the center mount.Sony in-dash tv/dvd/nav system with a set of 12" DVC Carbon coned sony.Duel oddessy batteries and a tuff stuff 200 amp alt. keep me charged.custom door panels in stainless steel and carbon fiber we made to complement the rest of the interior.a grant steering wheel and tilt column and billet buttons to control the SPAL door poppers on the shaved doors.Seatbelt Planet made up the 4-point harness seat belts and in the glove box a sony laptop to control the Holly EFI syastem. Now almost donr we bolted on the Forgeline black diamond cut 20x11 rear and 20x9 front wheels with Toyo Proxes 295/30-20 and 255/35-20 tires.Alot of though went into this, the AWD needs a matching tire diameter, but we wanted a wide deep dish rear end ,so this did the trick
